I know this case is all over - & it should be - but Turning Point USA has waged a harassment campaign against faculty for more than a decade. I know of at least a half dozen other faculty, personally, who have received death threats and several of those who felt so unsafe they too left their homes

Absolutely, someone being a late bloomer as a musician is rare to find. Yes there are people that pickup music and instruments in their adult lives, but the learning curve is much steeper than if they received formal or non-traditional musical education as child (which is severely lacking)

music is suffering because of the purposeful defunding of arts education specifically and defunding of education in general. it’s suffering because of lack of access. it’s suffering because artists are catering to algorithms vs. living, breathing people or even themselves.
