Community + trust is how we stay together when others try to tear us apart. Be excellent to each other.

As a @frame.work laptop owner, the companies recent promotion and inclusion of people in the community who have a long and un-reversed track record for being harmful to other open source communities makes me sad.

Best question from Texas LinuxFest:

"If everything is a file in Linux, what kind of file is imposter syndrome?"

Answer: /dev/null - you keep writing to it but nothing actually persists.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Rocky booth. You reminded me why I love this weird, wonderful world.

The 'kin' of ‘napkin’ means "little."

‘Nap’ comes from ‘nape,' which means “tablecloth.”

So a napkin is a little tablecloth.

Could this be one of the first somewhat large scale natural experiments that concretely show data on the prevalence of ad blocking tools?

Many affected youtubers have shared their analytics data to help figure out what's happening.

Theres a reason theres a #clippy in my avatar: #righttorepair

New "reverse ransomware" tactics are being used to break the devices you own post-sale, then sell you the fix as a subscription.

Let's reform the copyright laws that enable this deceptive behavior:

The overly-broad language of Sec. 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is restricting repair by preventing innovation and competition in the repair market. This law prevents tinkerers and entr...

Charlie Kirk called me a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘prostitute’ and demanded I be deported.

Nothing, *nothing*, justifies killing him, or robbing his kids of their dad.

We don’t know the identity or motive of the shooter but murder can *never* be the response to political disagreements.

It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

What was the @hankgreen.bsky.social video where the key point was something about "ask yourself whether you can afford to financially contribute to something - that is enough"

Can't find the video but love the idea and think it has interesting applications for crowd funding open source communities

Some seem to be meming in video form. But is anyone meming in audio form?

Example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_74N..., or maybe some kind of mashup/remix edit that uses clips ridiculously

You don't need any more justification than "this no longer serves me" to make a change in your life. Really.

So you'e no longer the version of you that aligned w/ the old thing. So what.

Turns out you don't need to explain-- or defy-- the universal truth that humans change.
