Great article just out from two of our graduate students in Geography on teaching a writing-intensive class at the moment ChatGPT appeared, and how grappling with emergent generative AI has transformed the content of that human geography class.

Guys ok -- if "broka" was a Germanic ancestor for the 15C Kentish word "brook" that meant, essentially, "wetlands", then the King James bible's translation of Psalm 42:1 --

-- "as the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God"

means: "God you are like a wetland!"

In Morrow County, healthy adults were coming down with unexplained medical conditions, including diseases that usually afflicted the elderly.

In a survey of 30 homes, at least 25 miscarriages and a half dozen people living with one kidney were reported.

That #Seahawks win against the Houston Texans is looking more and more impressive. Houston sacked Josh Allen 8 times! The Hawks' offensive line only gave up 2 sacks in their game against the Texans.

Who’s out there theorizing AI as the real subsumption of nature by capital?
In applying AI to material science, biology, etc, capitalism is trying to shed science.

The point is to substitute the engineering of a machine that can generate what science has hitherto done, but without having people know things. Knowledge ultimately residing in private property is the dream.

Seahawks looked like an elite team who succumbed to one player's bad day. If that player isn't the quarterback, they win.

I can live with that loss. Nobody can make me enjoy it, and nobody should excuse the cause of it, but I can live with it.
