I would argue that the case for dismantling ICE has, at this point, virtually nothing to do with larger questions of immigration enforcement and reform, it's just clearly incompatible with a free and democratic society to maintain a secret police force with sweeping and arbitrary authority.
Senator Gallego weighs in as well. Note that at the start of 2025 he was considered a *moderate* on immigration and co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act. Him and many other Dems have been increasingly horrified at what ICE is doing and shifted away from a "more enforcement" focus.

I've played both. They both offer frankly unprecedented replay value in an adventure game landscape that seems content to tell a singular linear story and call it a day. The complexity of these games is unreal.

Also, Francisco is a nice guy who can bench press me (and has).
Tomorrow is my birthday, and two of my adventure games happen to be on sale right now.

Give yourself or someone you know the gift of games on my behalf!

The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

it's great to know if a federal agent shoots you in the face the entire government will publicly slander you as a domestic terrorist before ambulances even arrive

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Rosewater, my Wild West adventure game, has been out nearly 4 months and has been very well-received!

But I also feel like it’s reached a fraction of its potential audience.

If you can spare a repost and help spread the word, it would be greatly appreciated!

Yup. I have a hard time seeing the fact that Bluesky does not compensate people for being combative assholes to generate "engagement" as a downside.
Agreed. I find a lot of the criticism of BlueSky comes from the inability of a small group of people to monetize it.

SO happy with Old Skies’s success so far, but early momentum is very important, so leave a review on Steam if you can. The higher that review count goes, the more people see the game.

Sorry to e-beg but in the absence of a marketing budget this is all I got!

Hey folks, I've found a copy of the game Rosewater in my inbox, and I am going to be declining this. Here's why...

I intended to buy it, and that's what I'm going to do. I want the developer to have my money, especially because of that No AI seal that's proudly displayed on the game's Steam page.👍

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

Fwiw, I would 100% pay a small subscription fee for bluesky. Much better model than ads, and their algorithm should stay pretty close to what it is now

Spending a month on Bluesky has created a whole new model of a fight we need to be having right now. Not liberal vs. conservative or whatever, but respect vs manipulation.

I am tired of being manipulated everywhere I go. That’s why I like it here, I feel like I’m in charge for once.
