Using GenAI to write or make art is putting yourself in a market with massive supply and very little demand. You turn yourself into an interchangeable commodity and expose yourself to deskilling. Taking the easy way out is ultimately ruinous to you and your peers.

I'm totally just participating in fandoms to become a better Community Manager, and not because I'm obsessed with a fictional character... erm, the creative bond it creates between people. Fanart and fanfiction are some of the best things to come from the internet 💚

[insert "how about both" meme]

Stop. Back up. You just came through that door. No don't look at that, you know that's there. Look at the ground. They always look at the ground. Now, what does the player see? What do they understand right now?

You'll never catch me with genAI songs, merch, promos or emotes on my stream. Period.

We need to let creators know it's stinky and to stop supporting it.

'It's never too late to change'—until IT IS.

So if you continue to be cool with creative theft and hurting the planet—I don't want ye around ✌🏼

I love reading indie books, but every once in a while I am reminded that they are somewhat of a blind box regarding... narrative flow?

"Quality of writing" feels too subjective to say, but what I mean is that the lack of an external edit becomes apparent at times.

Dialog overtaking chapters, or...

Just learned about something that unlocked a new level of self- and world-understanding for me.

The "Double Empathy Problem" with #Autism

In other words: Why I originally believed I cannot possibly be #autistic, because empathy comes naturally to me. Just that people misunderstand me a lot, too.

I love all genders🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
Because I have no gender.
Especially right now, transgender people are living with a lot of anxiety.

Why are transgender people not allowed to freely love the people they want to love?
Why can't transgender individuals live their lives with the soul they prefer?

twitter must be dead dead cause someone posted a rat coin purse that would have 2019 twitter losing its collective mind and most of the top comments are bots saying random words or people not nearly amped enough about the rat coin purse

Even on hugely popular games with 95%+ Steam user review scores, you will almost always see some interminable, essay-length negative rant flagged as the 'most useful' and put front and center on the store page.

Part of it is Steam's upvoting system being busted. Part is human nature being stupid.
One negative review killed Pendragon. It was posted within hours of release: a detailed "objective" explanation of why they didn't connect with it.

But it's ticked as helpful by passing people *who have not played the game*. This keeps it pinned to the top.

It's longer than our description text.
RE that RT.. it’s wild how steam reviews are still so damn important to getting visibility. If you play and like indie games, the most generous and helpful thing you can do is spend an hour popping positive reviews onto anything you like with <500 or so reviews.

I hang out with so many game devs and marketeers that I always (mistakenly) assume this is common knowledge. If you want to do a gamedev a gigantic favor that costs you literally nothing but 3min of your time, write them a Steam review. ESPECIALLY if they have less than 500 or so.
