Mind you Linda Davis (a black woman) was killed the same way yesterday down in Georgia… let’s see who gives enough of a fuck about her. (spoiler: nobody but us)
It’s crazy (but not shocking or surprising) that it took a white woman getting smoked for these people to acknowledge even a fraction of the problem.

(They’re still largely ignoring the overall bigger problem with policing in this country.)
U2 became the latest high-powered musical act to condemn the federal immigration raids with the surprise release Wednesday of a six-track EP that kicks off with a song for Renee Good.

Sounds like they're aware of their losing the "culture war" which can also be rephrased as:

"They're aware that they're losing the war on basic human decency."

Regardless of how you say it -- this is good news for all of America.

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

It's funny because a week or so ago, I predicted U2 would have something to say. It's U2 after all.
U2 have emerged from a long hiatus with a surprise six-song EP, 'Days of Ash,' where they address political flashpoints around the world, including ICE raids, the Iranian uprisings, the war in Ukraine, and Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Our art is definitely the height of sophistication. I’m glad readers who aren’t Black can enjoy my work. But if you’re Black you really get all its subtext.
Black art can look like it’s trying for something no one can understand. Not true. We work within the Black paradigm, for Black people, & the white gaze is incidental. We experience life far outside whiteness, & we express ourselves by this framework, & when we speak to each other we’re understood.
