Something I learnt when I went to a retreat full of Labor hacks and NGO nerds is that those people view the law as a sacred all-powerful force of supreme good.

The small reactionary section of atheists is elevated and blown out of proportion because they are aligned with the bourgeoisie. The vast majority of “nones” are vastly more progressive / left leaning in their politics than any other group. “Nones” are now 30% of the population.

I'm just extremely sick of the conflation of sex as dehumanizing, as sexuality as harmful, of sex as something less than human - as something shameful to avoid, something we need to purge. The less we talk about it the worse all our problems get. Fascism is also inherently libidinal and made worse.

Art should not be censored. Ful stop. Where is my line? If the art requires harm to a person who has not consented or is incapable of meaningful consent it has gone too far. Otherwise it should be unrestricted.
A lot of creators essentially saying "My work might contain nudity and sexual situations, but it's NOT porn. My work is important and artistic, while their work is dirty, which is still okay to hate and censor." But guess what! The purity squad makes no such distinction.
