I think more than anything else AI feels like a miracle to people with questionable literacy because it can read and write for you, and a lot of us who are highly literate underestimate how many of our society's leaders, esp in business, struggle with literacy.
It's pretty much mandatory at work that I appear to be using it, so I've doe a few functional things with it, and it's a moderate time-saver if used right. But nowhere near worth it's stock value, energy cost.

Then I realize there's a lot of people who simply can't write coherent paragraphs.

This is the future Democrats want.
So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)

The absolutely dark truth is that the Boy Scouts admitted girls because of falling participation and the fallout from decades of covering up sex abuse on a scale with the Catholic Church.
As a private citizen, Hegseth has been a critic of the Scouts since they admitted girls. Now his beliefs shape the how DOD operates.
"This is an institution the left didn't control. They didn't want to improve it. They wanted to destroy it or dilute it into something that stood for nothing.

Man I posted this 11 hours ago and I think the story has changed twice more since lmfao.

Now the state dept is contradicting Rubio saying it is the plan and he's walking *that* back and just calling it framework.

No one knows what anyone is doing in this admin lmfao
So let me get this straight...

The story line now is the 28 point peace plan *wasn't* approved? And Witkoff sent it out anyhow?

This admin is so goddamn incompetent lmfao.

I'm struggling to get my head around this. Two explanations I can think of:

1. This is severe Trump administration incompetence with an incoherent and disjointed White House and State Dept.

2. This is some BS Art of the Deal negotiation tactic to make the actual proposal look comparatively better.

The plan was leaked by the Russians and no one in America’s historically inept administration knew what anyone else was doing so people started getting behind it because they thought it was official policy.

Putin totally played the US, knowing full well he was up against incompetents and idiots.

Republican Senator Mike Rounds said Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a call to senators, confirmed the so-called 28-point “peace plan” was actually a Russian wishlist and is “not the administration’s position”. Nor is there any threat to cut off weapons or intelligence to Ukraine.

Working people have been left behind in New York. In the wealthiest city in the world, one in five can't afford $2.90 for the train or bus. As I told Trump today— it’s time to put those people right back at the heart of our politics.

I feel the same way as I did when the NYC schools chancellor went to congress to defend our schools. He stood up for what he believes in and won over opponents.

It helps to have values that you believe in and people believe you believe in those values.
a significant reason Mamdani can get away with this and other Dems can’t is less that he’s charmed Trump and more that he’s charmed you, dear reader, which is why you’re not yelling at him for being a collaborator or an appeaser right now

THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

For example, the incident on October 23 where DHS claimed that Bovino was hit in the head with a rock before he deployed tear gas at protestors?

That didn't happen. He fired tear gas and then AFTERWARDS, someone threw a rock. He went back and forth on this under oath, repeatedly changing his story.

When she gets to Gregory Bovino, she finds him completely uncredible, and says he was evasive or outright lied multiple times across three days of testimony — and not just any falsehoods, he was not telling the truth about multiple things which were all captured on video, making it all very obvious.
