I believe everyone should be treated equally regardless of gender, race and sexuality. I’m sick of cis men telling me what rights I need. #CisWithTheT #TransRightsAreHumanRights #ProEU πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

🚨 Joint Statement

This formal challenge to the EHRC’s fitness for purpose has been brought by @transactualuk.bsky.social, @amnestyuk.bsky.social k.bsky.social and @transsolidarity.bsky.social

Together they have reported the EHRC
to the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI)
I understand. I felt I had to stay connected in order to know what was going on. I used to try to reason with trolls on the internet but got a torrent of abuse back. Now I write to my MP, I get emails from QueerAF every Sat and I subscribe to certain channels on YouTube instead. I’m much happier.
I hope you’re ok. That hell site is unusable, came off it months ago.

Why do we keep talking about trans healthcare?

Because of statistics like this.
Because every day waiting, in this world obsessed with harassing trans people, is a battle that many don't survive.

So, we keep talking about it, and keep fighting back against systemic transphobia.

🚨 Hundreds, possibly thousands, of GPs are refusing Trans+ adults their healthcare

We always said the Trans+ Healthcare scandal would get worse

"Given the complexity and unique medical considerations involved in hormone therapy [we're no longer authorising your prescription]" - GP
'I used to pay Β£200 for trans healthcare - now I pay nearly Β£2,000'
'I just feel like my GP can, at any given time, ruin my life.'

"The EHRC’s exclusionary interim guidance has had a devastating impact on trans people’s lives"

β€œNow the guidance has been withdrawn, so should the exclusionary policies that organisations rashly implemented in its aftermath. If not, they could find themselves in hot water.”
EHRC withdraws interim guidance encouraging trans exclusion
After six months of confusion and delay, the EHRC has taken down interim guidance rushed out in April. But the damage has already been done.

Gender Identity Clinic's Waiting Lists from Shortest To Longest
@zackpolanski.bsky.social
Have you seen this? Note, this is for a first appointment. Someone in my family has already been waiting 3.5 years. They saved to go private with a shared-care plan but the shared-care was removed after 2.5 years without any explanation. They’re 25yo, how is this right?

Thank you for this Sian. Our open letter shares many of the same concerns and has now reached over 54k signatures in support:

Thank you!
When will we hear the outcome of this, do you know, does anyone know?

I have come to the conclusion the EHRC guidance on single sex spaces should not even come to Parliament. It is misleading and has caused distress for my trans constituents.

I urge @bphillipsonMP to reject it on grounds of practicality and human rights.

Above - a copy and paste from the bottom section of the letter.
It is committed to protecting trans people, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect.
The Government would like to assure you that it remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold the Act which protects everyone, including trans people, from unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation in the workplace and wider society.
Following this, the Government will undertake an equalities impact assessment, in line with the Public Sector Equality Duty, and lay the approved draft in Parliament for scrutiny.
The EHRC will now take time to consider the responses to its consultation and make any necessary changes to the final draft before submitting it to the Minister for Women and Equalities for approval.

🚨 I've drafted a template MP letter to call on the Minister for Women & Equalities to reject any new EHRC Code unless & until the serious statements of alarm & condemnation from multiple international human rights bodies have been fully acknowledged & resolved.

Sign these petitions if you haven't already, share them on all platforms, get the message out as much as possible, we cannot allow these to lose momentum
Okay folks! We’ve a real opportunity here. This petition is at 78,000 (ends 28 July!). With a good push, we can get it over the line.
MPs *don't need to stick to the exact petition topic*. We can brief them to discuss any & ALL issues with trans healthcare.

Sorry - photo is of a public disabled toilet door, decorated with a trans symbol with the wording β€˜inclusive’
frustrated cis male janitor then proceeded to use his janitor keys to open the disabled toilet door and look inside to see what the women were doing! And YOU think trans people are the problem!!!
Welcome Break Services, Telford. This is not β€˜inclusive’ at all! It’s segregation, discriminatory and NOT the law. I waited here with my disabled mum as it was occupied by a large group of women, using it as an impromptu dressing room. A cis male janitor told us to use the baby changing. The…
