Can't believe we're almost half-way through October and I've barely done anything for Halloween, yet.

Several years ago I was at a renaissance-festival combat expo. Some was legit fighting, but some was obviously-staged acting. When one guy especially faked a "injury" I said "It's a Neymar" to a friend, and next thing I knew a dozen strangers around all yelled "Neymar!". Even the performers laughed

My buildup to Halloween is on. This is from a few years ago, but it helps get me in the right mood...
Blocky-looking glowing jack o lantern face.

That is an amazing photo. I especially like how the light reflects off parts of the motorcycle, while keeping the rider in shadows.

Fall is settling in, where I live.

I think what's impressive about TRON is that, visually, it's still so much more interesting than any of it's sequels. It's crazy that they tried update this digital world by making it as 'realistically rendered' as possible. It's a complete misunderstanding of the original's charm.

It's now a War of Southern Aggression.

Makes this ad even more apt.
What happened to him should be on the front page of every news organization.

Let's put those federal troops on HIS front lawn, and see what he thinks, then.

Part of what I like to see is knowing that DC wouldn't make this kind of statement if they didn't think there was enough popular support that it wouldn't hurt their sales.
To me it's an even clearer sign that people are increasingly rejecting AI, and companies are finally noticing.

What frightens me the most about this stuff is they literally don't care that none of what they're saying is true. They know it, their supporters know it, and they don't care. They are too eager to wage their War of Southern Aggression as payback for 1860-1865.

Southerners still call the Civil War the "War of Northern Aggression" and they've always wanted revenge. Now they're waging a War of Southern Aggression against us.

End the Republicans' War of Southern Aggression.

I feel like we're in the middle of a War of Southern Aggression being waged against us.

We should be calling this the "War of Southern Aggression", from now on.

The War of Southern Aggression is happening to us, folks.

The interesting thing here is, he wouldn't be saying that if he didn't think it would help their sales figures.
Seems like there's growing momentum against AI than for it.
(which is why the tech bros keep trying to use government to force AI on us)

At what point should we start referring to the situation as "The War of Southern Aggression"? - Asking for a friend.

I first read "Lord of the Rings" in the early 1980's, as a teenager. I grew up seeing countless artists imagining scenes from the books. It's fascinating how the popular visualization of these stories has evolved over time.
