The underlying principle is the same. I don't need to unblock people, because I've already heard their arguments repeatedly, at length.

Those people are also not owed OUR views. Other people will say how dogshit your ideas are. Insisting we do it personally is demanding we listen to & debate you.

Never once is there a follow-up of "Do you think that being constantly unaware of major political news makes you unfit to hold a political position?"

Or "You can pull an article up right now, we'll wait."

Or even "Which staffer are you going to fire for leaving you so pathetically unprepared?"
Q: What's your reaction to yesterday's purge of senior ICE officials? When is it time for Congress to do some oversight?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know any of the details of that yet. I just heard about that, literally I was walking in.
Alternately, Democrats could turn their entire political machine into food banks from now until the shutdown ends, and instantly buy themselves better messaging and goodwill than this neolib shit ever will.

Actually help people, then campaign on helping more.

most of the last decade of my career was a frantic effort to warn as many people as possible about the dangers i saw coming in the near future

now that all the stuff i saw coming is here, i dunno what to do other than maybe start a Warhammer 40k podcast
I'm trans, and such a hard-core MTG fan that I actually showed up to the Spider-Man prerelease.

Imagine being the CEO of a company that solely exists, & attracts investment, because a critical mass of people abandoned your competitor over bigotry. Now imagine crashing out publicly & asserting your userbase has no value to you because you don't want to eject a specific & named bigot.
Are you paying us? Where?
Our presence is what you use to get buy-in on your next round of investment. If user numbers suddenly start trending downwards, that's bad for your ability to attract investors. Being deliberately obtuse just makes you sound like an asshole.
A, yes it fucking has.

B, Bsky is only as popular as it is because people wanted to avoid the chuds your team is now bending over backwards to protect.

C, persistent right wing hatred is a noted cause of decline in other platforms like FB/Twitter.

Having a soul actually helps your business here.
Harassing the mods into banning someone has never worked. And harassing people in general has never changed their mind.
In case anyone needed translation, he's saying nobody's going to keep records of the war crimes he's going to demand they commit.
Hegseth: "You should not pay for an earnest mistake for your entire career. That's why today, at my direction, we're making changes to the retention of adverse information on personnel records."
But Tony Stark did find the gems.

Nobody's quite sure what he's working on now, just that there's a lot of banging sounds coming from his workshop and the occasional "I... am... Iron Man..."
Thanos made the Infinity Fleshlight and no one’s heard from him since.
If you have to publicly beg a person not to renege on the deal you want to make, you aren't making a deal. You're capitulating.
Kaine: "We're just asking if we do a deal, please Mr President don't sign the deal and then immediately start taking away funds, rescinding agreements that you just made yesterday. A deal should be a deal."
Were the Infinity Stones on a string?
Thanos is so lonely I found the Infinity Gauntlet and it was all stiff and crusty.
A point of clarification - it RECOGNIZES inalienable rights. It does not grant those rights. We have them inherently, even if the Constitution is torn up and used for toilet paper.

"... that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."
There cannot be an easier layup for a Democrat governor than this open invitation to ask JD Vance to go fuck a couch.
Vance in Michigan: "Gretchen, we are happy to send the National Guard to Detroit. All you gotta do is ask."

What the Debate Me bros have done is found a way to filibuster the self-evident humanity of a person or group by making it an endless topic of debate.

As Toni said: "None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing."

It's not my job to prove my equality to those who think me inferior
The NCGOP will lie right to your face and say they believe in equal rights while actively undermining basic civil rights. Debating them is like playing make-believe. #ncpol

there's a weird feedback loop where the media's reaction to kirk's death pushes you to speak more ill of the dead than you otherwise would because it's the only reasonable response to the simpering praise they're heaping on him
The follow up is never "Are you threatening freedom of the press?", or "Are you trying to revoke the First Amendment?"

Access is worthless if you're just going to passively record answers.
JON KARL: What do you make of Pam Bondi saying she's gonna go after hate speech? A lot of your allies say hate speech is free speech

TRUMP: We'll probably go after people like you because you treat me so unfairly. You have a lot of hate in your hate. Maybe they'll have to go after you.
Free speech doesn't allow people to slander. It doesn't allow calling people literal murderers. It doesn't allow targeted campaigns of death threats, or harassing employers until someone is fired. This isn't new ground, these are well-defined causes of action.
Will they win every suit? No. But they'll win a lot, and make outlets like Fox News afraid to just outright lie. And the wins can fund further suits, until the stake is driven through the propaganda network - and then they move on to the next.
I truly do not understand why there is not a massive DNC fund dedicated to funding lawsuits against Fox News/Newsmax/etc. every time they spew a verifiable lie. Doesn't matter if it targets Democrats in general, specific reps, random targets of Republican hate - they lie or platform a lie, sue them.
Rep. Michael Rulli: "The Democratic Party... your rhetoric needs to be toned down... when Joe Biden was in office, we listened, we watched, and we spoke, but we spoke fluently and we didn't speak with this hate... you tried to kill our president twice. You actually killed Charlie. Enough is enough."
Their defeat of Moriarty through a quadrant-spanning chase culminating in a singing contest is sensationalized in Photons be Free 2: Baroque Blokes & Photonic Yokes.
Post-Dominion War touring acts that constantly end up cross-scheduled, resulting in increasing one-upsmanship, only to discover their publicists murdered by Moriarty, who believes their egos and anachronistic/acerbic personalities keep his demands for physical freedom from being taken seriously.
