No wonder Bitcoin tanked: apparently it's possible to just accidentally create Bitcoins out of thin air.

SEEMS BAD.

I agree that most superhero movies can be replaced by AI. That’s kind of what Scorsese has been warning us about.

Looking forward to cinema making a comeback.

Wildlight (Highguard) lays off staff according to a LinkedIn post

"Unfortunately, along with most of the team at Wildlight, I was laid off today.

This one really stings as there was a lot of unreleased content I was really looking forward to that I and others designed for Highguard."

The issue is not whether the computer is getting more sentient but whether humans are getting less so.

The X68000 has been getting a real resurgence lately. I wonder why that is. Of course it’s a gorgeous machine with some amazing games (Geograph Seal being my favorite) but people seem to be yearning for a return of something Sharp’s computer and its culture represented. What do you think?
Serial Experiments Lain is a cautionary, deeply political story about how cool the Sharp X68000 looked, and what would happen if computers kept looking like that.

I loved @nyamakop.co.za’s debut title Semblance *gulp* a decade ago.

Relooted is such an incredible leap in scope and vision - and an absolute STEAL at the moment (10% off on Steam).

Reflecting on this, I think everyone should have the experience of getting documented proof that yes, in fact your enemies are conspiring against you.
I hadn’t known this. Two men who were accused of sexual abuse on the Shitty Media Men document that I created back in 2017 reached out to Michael Wolff for help as they looked to sue me, and Wolf forwarded their concerns to Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein offered to help. www.jmail.world/thread/EFTA0...

Sadly the same is true for us fiction writers, directors & game designers whose dystopian visions come true almost as quickly as it takes to get them to market. There’s no satisfaction in being right - only in the hope that, one day, the world will find the courage & strength to right wrongs again.

James Cameron said that, in the future, all cinemas would show movies in 3D. Suddenly, TVs were coming with 3D glasses. Not anymore.

At Meta Connect last year, he was on stage launching his Avatar trailer on Quest. Soon after, Meta closed down its VR studios.

What if he’s the Titanic of new tech?
Any history of technology people know if there are other technologies that were touted as "here to stay" in the manner of generative AI that...didn't stay?
i guess worth looking into whether people were similarly convinced about other technologies in the past
