Reintroduction post! I'm Nick, a level designer at Respawn Entertainment where I've worked on both Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor.

Outside of my day job I do some TTRPG design which will eventually see the light of day. Currently I'm working on a hack for Mothership!

anyway it's a new year, a year in which we plan* to release 4 (+ actually) issues, and so for the fifth year running I am on my hands & knees begging people to try sending us info about what they're working on, ideally 2-3 months before release

Libre Office is fantastic.
Microsoft is so fucking stupid.

Microsoft renamed Microsoft Office to Microsoft 365 Copilot App

I'm not joking

I'm contemplating picking up a new big game to sink my teeth into. Do folks have thoughts on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

And if it's worth playing, should I play KCD1 first? Or is it more of a Witcher 1 situation where you go back to it after you fall in love with newer entries in the series

Just saw the new Knives Out, and it’s been said a million times, but I hope Rian Johnson keeps making these boys, they rule

My gut says I liked it better than Glass Onion but not more than the original. I think the emotional core of this one really works

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

“We’re going to ship lower quality stuff, faster” seems like an exceptionally clear sighted and honest explication of AI’s value proposition, I’m just not convinced that a) people will want the lower quality stuff, or b) that it will actually be faster
Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

Glad Larian clarified they are using AI for reference and temp art with no intention to replace artists

I still disagree with that process, but want to make sure I’m not spreading misinfo!
Gotta say, I didn’t have “we use AI for concept art” on my bingo card for the Divinity media blitz lmao

Working with artists is the greatest joy in any creative field.
Making games is about communicating with expert artists across disciplines, and most importantly trusting them to execute the best version of what you want, not trying to get them to create the exact image you see in your head.

Finally picked up Tactical Breach Wizards last night and man I really slept on this one! Each room is an elegant little puzzle, and the narrative layer is light-hearted and chill in a way that makes the game feel like a breeze to play

Excited to rip through the rest of it over the next few days
