I saw this at the library today. It's a sad day when we have to write books for children about lockdowns and hiding from the possibility of a school shooter. The author did a beautiful job & the pictures were lovely but it's the topic that just breaks my heart. We've got to change what's happening.

It’s important to remember that community care doesn’t have to come in the form of $100s in donations or dropping off pallets of food.

Sometimes it’s picking up an extra rotisserie chicken for a neighbor, or doing a grocery pick up for an elder, or helping someone with laundry or childcare.

SNAP benefits are going to be paused on November 1. If you are able, now is a good time to give to food banks, food pantries, or local mutual aid groups.

It's notable that Trump doesn't say, "if a couple has a little fight..."

He explicitly says, "If a man has a little fight with the wife."

The only thing he left out was, "look what you made him do."
Trump minimizes domestic abuse during a talk at the Museum of the Bible: "Things that take place in the home, they call crime ... If a man has a little fight with the wife, they say this was a crime, see?"

Trump and Dr. Oz want AI to decide which Medicare patients get care—and they're giving AI companies a profit-incentive to deny coverage. Everything about this is sick and wrong. Tell Congress to intervene NOW:
Tell Congress: Stop Trump's Plan to Let AI Deny Medicare Coverage
Donald Trump and Dr. Oz want to let Artificial Intelligence (AI) choose which procedures Medicare will cover for individual patients -- with AI companies being paid based on how much money they save by denying people’s coverage. This cruel ploy comes as Medicare faces an urgent funding crisis thanks to Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill. None of this “cost-saving” would be necessary if Trump and the GOP weren't driving up healthcare costs and starving our healthcare system of funds. Email Congress NOW: Demand that they stop AI-powered healthcare denials and use the upcoming funding deadline to restore healthcare.
