It is striking how similar this discourse is to how certain people discuss Indigenous communities and our leadership. And it frankly reeks of colonialism. There is no nuance here, no examination of the material and historic conditions, just this. "We must oversee all aid."
There are many countries that have benefited from their relationships with Cuba and they absolutely should stand up and be counted now. However, this must be done in a way that recognises the autocratic and corrupt nature of the Cuban regime or the assistance will never reach its intended targets.

This actually works. It cools the vagus nerve. If you feel anxious, take a screen break. Go outside if you can. If not, stare out a window to reset your brain. Close your eyes and try to identify all of the different sounds you hear. The idea is to stop the anxiety loop by focusing on your senses. 🩵
