I'm A.R. Connolly, a photographer, writer, & game dev based out of the #PNW. Much of my work can be found at the above website, but my most recent stuff is always here.

My #photography often focuses on #perspective (physical & emotional) & the split between humanity & nature.

I remember seeing this at RadioShack as a kid and being so enamored by the intro fmv while being super confused by the gameplay. 30 years later I can still remeber the way the narrator announced each mech as you selected them.

When I’m in a depressive swing one of the hardest things to do is go to bed.

It’s tough to quiet my brain long enough to sleep & if I’m not providing noise to drown stuff out, I’m inundated with horrible thoughts.

That simple aspect of depression doesn’t get talked about enough.

I feel a bit trepidatious on the last day of 2025. It’s been the best year of my life. After a decade, my life is mine again.

Idk what 2026 will bring, but if this year was just the beginning, then I am equal parts anxious & excited for what comes next.

Idk if it helps in finding hope but I wanted to say thank you for sharing your work. I’ve found inspiration, excitement, and awe in your art. I hope things get easier and that you find the work you want and need because the world is better for the things you’ve created.

Been playing Monster Hunter for the last couple days & while Rise & World are ok & Generations Ultimate is huge, they just don’t hit right for me.

Turns out I needed to revisit the one I played for 30 minutes 10 years ago to fall back in love. 4 Ultimate is just incredible. Super excited for more.

Was going to share a look at this past year’s goals and where I’m heading professionally and personally in 2026, but migraine is kicking my butt. Hopefully I can get it finished up tomorrow cuz I’d love to share my experience from 2025 before the new year.
