The Hulst Course for the #CycloCross world championships feels very sanitised in comparison to the normal course, less mud and more of those paths laid down

The tricky descent that makes me think of the meme below seems missing

It feels like rare that a Men's World Tour had a different stage winner on every stage.

Well, at least 6 months anyway

I've been working on emptying out my freezer to defrost it.

Sadly, this means I'll have to have ice cream both today and tomorrow.

Someone has to do it.

Irishness shouldn't be defined by an accent perceived as Irish accent.

I've been told I sound Welsh, French, Italian, German, Polish, "continental ", "non-national", Austrian and this is just what people said to my face.

Doesn't make me any less irish because some eejit don't think I sound irish.

The UK government is letting these people die. They know it. They're pretending it's not happening.

I watch a little bit of tennis, but read this out of interest. It is the autobiography for Conor Niland, who reached world ranking of 129.

From a perspective of a cycling fan, it was very interesting (particularly in my mind comparing both) as he rose through the futures and challengers tours.

Cyclocross without real mud in December feels wrong.

With 5'30 laps, alot of the field is going to get lapped

Not to panic anyone, but it is only 50 shopping days left for St. Valentine's Day

Oh, and happy Christmas

Just finished "When We Were Sisters" by Fatimah Asghar and I just loved it. It is a novel about three orphaned siblings who after their father dies, are left to look after themselves

I found how Asghar wrote really compelling, and they wrote a really terrific novel.

He isn't "losing" this money. This is called "paying tax like a responsible citizen and not hiding your money offshore" and we need to start recognising and applauding it.

I was watching 'An Cailin Ciuin' on TH4, and that potato peeler Cait was using just gave me the shivers from past childhood experiences.

So, just to confirm, the BBC can’t keep Robin Ince on the air because his trans allyship brings the organisation into disrepute, but they can keep David Walliams, who performed Nazi salutes at the recording of this very show, on the air despite him being predatory towards women. Cool. Very normal.

I've been reading Disappoint Me between essay stints BTW.

It's Fine. Dust jacket markets it as "bougie domesticity," pretty much you get what it says on the tin. Pretty good humor.

The cover is literally me while reading it lol.

I really liked it

And now Having reached my #Goodreads target, I can now read for Fun (joking.)

News websites need better ad selection than just the autogenerated ones.

So that if you are reading an article on the person in court for a 'romance scam', the ads on the article are not for dodgy dating websites
