National Center for Transgender Equality. Because trans people are more than a suicide statistic or helplines. Equality in all or fuck you.

Please also consider aid for Palestina, a country even if some refuse to acknowledge it or the genocide they're subjected to.

The charities listed are these:
Worldwildlife's save the Pangolin. Pangolins are weird and cool. They should continue to exist.

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. A friend had Crohn's and I miss him every fucking day.

Still open for art commissions even if it's a *bit* too close to the holidays to be and while I also have these wishlists, I kinda think the charities listed at the end is more important. Even though I'm poor as fuck right now.
Here's all the wishlists I've collected — most of them EU safe — and charities and whatnots. If I know and trust you, I'll give my address. If not, please consider some of the other options that work without that. Thank you.

"So, how was it? Come on, you can tell us. On a scale from one to five. We're dying to know! I know we've pestered you about this earlier quite a bit. Go on, rate it just for us. Please."

It was a toaster. A bog standard toaster, it makes toasts. It does not warrant a fucking rating in your store.

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

I agree with this entire thread. I am deeply disappointed by @sfwa.org 's decision, especially considering how many of its members (including me) had our work stolen for the creation of that generative AI. There is NO way anyone should be eligible for a Nebula without doing ALL the writing themself.
I'm so disappointed in @sfwa.org for this. I understand that by requiring disclosure of partial LLM-created works, as their announcement states, means SFWA's letting "nominators and the voters" make the final decision. BUT YOU'RE STILL ALLOWING SUCH WORKS ON THE NEBULA AWARDS FINAL BALLOT! 1/
Another Nebula Awards nomination cycle is in full swing, and the addition of poetry and comics, along with the presence of LLMs in industry, required careful consideration.

Read on, and vote well!

We trust our voters & look forward to what they choose to celebrate.

wrong

I smack you with Claire Hummel's immaculate and detailed understanding of costume design, which she got by studying historical references, which made her strong, which you will not become by relying on AI

I'm a little disturbed by the lack of balance in the licenced the Clash TTRPG. I've been looking at the pre-generated characters, and if my math is correct, one of them incapable of not succeeding in ANY skill check. Rudie can't fail.

A billion dollars is the socio-economic equivalent of a loose nuke, and we should work to prevent the acquisition of the former with the same urgency and ruthlessness we use to prevent the acquisition of the latter.
This is obscene. Why can't other politicians say that?

The 25 richest families are collectively $358.7 billion richer than a year ago, with a combined fortune totaling $2.9 trillion.

It's come up in a few places where people go "they used genAI instead of googling, it's the least bad option if you have to use it" and I'll have to explain why that's wrong and also why Google is fucking things up for us. (🧵 1/4)

My own photography style is documentary melancholy, so these photos are great. The shadows fall where they may, the person in the background, and you can see the wall molding sticking out. Amazing document. And I really don't think the people in these photos can appreciate their uneasiness.
Oh my god y'all I had not seen the rest of the Vanity Fair photos holy shit. Christopher Anderson deserves a medal.

Look at this. He left the LIGHT SWITCHES in the edited photos! These assholes look like their well-meaning mom took a picture of them on their first day in a grown-up job.

For 2026 I fully intend to get back at writing. I sort of blame tumblr and 100% blame twitter for why I've let this lapse.

I'll need to change the design but it seems like a good theme to start out from. While it runs on Ghost, the newsletter mailing cost money so that's for later. glitchlight.com

No, there isn’t a way. There just isn’t. GenAI is poisoning the water supply of Oregon. It’s boiling inland seas. This tech, at scale, is an anti life equation, and all to spit out stolen collages of other people’s work to plug into a pipeline that has to be fixed by an underpaid real human later.
