The coalition govt's genius plans for cutting red tape and returning back to "locality" has been delivered.

A truly concerning article about the coming crisis in energy production and availability in NZ. There “was” a plan, and this Gvmt nixed it. #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/in-dept...
Lost in transition: The businesses trapped by New Zealand’s energy crisis
Behind the nation's energy crisis are businesses quietly fighting to survive - many feel they have nothing but bad options.

Clean car standard tinkering an incoherent misstep
Opinion: The evisceration of the clean car standard is the latest move in a hollowing out of our climate policy architecture.

Mum (91) lost her hubby 6 weeks ago, after a long illness and a difficult death. Today she received the news that her own health has suddenly tanked and she’ll be moved to palliative care tomorrow. Life sucks sometimes, really f*cking hard 😢

My Mum‘s really unwell and we’ve been in North Shore Hospital for nearly a week. The care is exemplary and it pisses me off that while they’re helping Mum fight her health battles, they’re also having to fight battles of their own #nzpol

Brought Mum home from the hospital this morning after a gastric episode - she’s 91. She woke from a nap feeling ill and disorientated. Woke from a 2nd nap in extreme pain from what we now think was a blood clot in her leg. Called an ambulance.

Just followed the ambulance to emergency for my 91 year old Mum, who lost her husband a month ago and now is very unwell herself. Poor thing 🫤

Unless things change between now and ~midday, it looks like the Regulatory Standards Bill will have its third reading this afternoon, starting at around 3.00, and then be passed into law in the coming days. Because it's a Thursday, the Prime Minister almost certainly won't be there for it. #NPZOL

Great thread on hearing Sir Ashley Bloomfield speak today. I SO miss this level of clear-headed leadership. #nzpol
Sir Ashley Bloomfield is the first keynote speaker at the Community Waikato conference. Have already spied several folk getting in a quick selfie during the coffee break 😁 might do the same myself 🤣 I remain a big fan of his 🎊

Why we used to sleep in two segments
Continuous sleep is a modern habit, not an evolutionary constant, which helps explain why many of us still wake at 3am and wonder if something’s wrong. It might help to know that this is a deeply huma...

If you’re a downtown business association discussing bike-lanes, watch this news story.

If you’re anyone hearing the LIE that bike-lanes are bad for business, watch this story.

And please SHARE THIS STORY so others can watch it too.
WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.
