Its funny how all the tech companies are all in AI by can't find any actual use cases.

Here's one: Amazon basically has a photograph of every address in the country, be it the front porch, front door, hallway. Delivery photos that don't match should prompt the delivery person to check the address.

I love when the things developed with a "move fast and break things" ethos are integrated into every single system our society relies on, and our overall economy all at once.

It's been a work in progress, but I suspect I am less than a week away from being able to post a picture of the dog snuggling with the cats. They are so cute testing each other's boundaries right now.

It's incredible. Every single movie, worth the click.
Apologies for the (unpaid!) advertisement, but if you've been tempted to subscribe to the Criterion Channel, I just learned that you can use the code BLACKFRIDAY25 to get 25% off an annual subscription—$75 rather than $100. It's one of the few streaming channels I never regret paying for.

I mostly only use physical cook books these days. Been that way for about 7 or 8 years. the first time my wife told me, you can't just cook the recipe, you need to scroll the comments for the corrections people recommend. I tapped out and said fuck it, I'm not doing that.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

See, this is really starting to get to me. This article says Turkey prices are up 25% this year. I was JUST listening to NPR this AM an they said Turkey prices are actually own because of cratering feed prices (which makes sense, sort of because we fucked our farmers)

I watched the original 1930s Scarface this past weekend and it was really odd. Howard Hughes was clearly making a crime panic informercial with a painfully overt message. There is a newsman (clearly supposed to be Hughes) who appears for like 2 minutes JUST to give a long winded monologue about it.

Hey, my kids' class had some sort of "disguise the turkey" competition for people to vote on. I'm not sure I get the lesson here, but maybe it is about the power of social media and parents' groupchats?? Vote here. I'm partial to number 26, but this is a Democracy.
