I needed to get some more paint for the Karlach base - just a plain grey as a starting point for all the stonework. Got one no problem. Get home an the top is sealed with silver paper.
So I pull it off and there must have been pressure in the tube as it exploded in my face.

It's true that Cinemasins-style "criticism" has done a lot to erode the actual useful concept of what a plot hole is, but if the ending to your story relies on the protagonist sacrificing themselves when someone who could flip the switch and not die is standing five feet away, sorry, that's on you
