Chickadees are a pretty good symbol for community defense; they're rooted in their locality (don't migrate), they indicate resources to migratory birds, they warn of threats ("chickadee-dee-dee-dee") and they dgaf about the cold

I remember when a major rite of passage for becoming ARMY was getting sucked into the well of Bangtan Bombs. Before they were carefully curated clips and behind the scenes footage, they were 30-sec clips of them being unhinged and goofy with zero context or explanation
I can't emphasise enough that early BTS was literally a group of teenage boys with relatively unsupervised access to twitter, youtube and soundcloud, and they were just doing whatever. It was inconsistent, strange, funny, and often hard to understand. It was mostly in Korean with no translation.

Young BTS had no idea what a digital footprint was. So, let me share a story: they loved playing the game crossy road, so after following the creator on Twitter, and he proposed to send them chicken plushies, they tweeted their entire address,in the end they got the plushies and posted about it
