I love the tribute from NBCSP.

But holy fuck I'm *cackling* that they picked the Halloween photo of Dan dressed as Ms. Rachel.

rising sea levels will destroy most of civilization AND there are more polar bears?
Scientists have reported some rare good news from the Arctic. As the climate changes and the ice melts, in one region at least, polar bears are thriving — finding new ways to survive, and even packing on the pounds.
Scientists "quite surprised" to find one polar bear population thriving: "A fat bear is a healthy bear"
After decades monitoring polar bears in Norway's far north, researchers say the animals have proven incredibly adaptable, but there are no guarantees for the future.

Nobody's laughing now.

Dan McQuade was a real blogger and journalist in the best meanings of both terms, with an eye for the uncanny and a strident curiosity that all his peers and readers admired. He was also a true blue son of Philly, the peculiar city he loved very much and helped explain better than anyone else.
A real blogger and real journalist

Dan’s eagerness to explore an idea that seemed only a quirky thought to some was so cool. I remember mentioning an idea i had, he hopped in my DMs and said he wanted to explore the idea further, and asked if I had a problem with it. I dont remember the topic or what came of it. but no man, go for it
