Hello, I’m OneOneTwo. I’m one of the moderators of the /r/MegaMan Subreddit and talk a lot about public transit (especially in Washington, D.C.). If you like action games or transit, I’d love to chat in replies to my posts :)

I also have a Games Beaten Thread if you’d like to see what I’m playing.
Today I ate pizza slices at Stretch NY Pizza called The Metro Slice, celebrating the discontinuation of the MetroCard. It has vodka sauce, fior di latte, chicken cutlet, spicy Calabrian chili, garlic pesto cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Not my favorite flavor, but a great send-off to a NYC icon.

Code Name: Viper plays eerily similar to Rolling Thunder, with its 2D Platforming taking a heavy emphasis on methodical play and jumping between floors, but Code Name: Viper sometimes surpasses Rolling Thunder with its improved controls, an actual story, and excellent music.

This is a very simple text adventure game that takes around 2 hours to complete. There's very little reason to play this imo given how simple it is (story and gameplay), but it's interesting to see where Capcom got its text adventure start, I suppose.

Hello from Scranton, PA, where I spent the last two days exploring the city and seeing attractions such as the Electric City Trolley Museum, Steamtown, Radisson at Lackawanna Scranton Hotel, and Lackawanna Coal Mine.

Conversely, the NYC Subway station that is the highest above street level is Smith-9th Sts on the F & G Trains, at 87.5 ft (26.7m) above street level.

Similar to how their previous game, Gunman Clive, played similar to Mega Man, Mechstermination Force is a Contra-alike, and a good one at that. I do think it needed a few run 'n gun levels because the game is super short, but otherwise this is a solid (and very cheap!) action game.

Marble Madness is a very short but challenging and technically impressive isometric platforming game. The game's required precision is certainly not for everyone, but there's something satisfying about completing these simplistic levels under a strict time limit, even today.

Major announcement in just-posted board documents: DC's Metro is moving fast toward automation.

Over 15 years, Metro plans full automation & platform screen doors, which the agency says will improve safety, reliability, & travel times—at reduced costs.

Metroid Prime 3 thoroughly impressed me with its planet hopping gameplay across multiple environments, expanded focus on story, and streamlined gameplay that addressed most of my criticisms of the first two games. However, I think it streamlines itself too much at points.

Today, I took the Northeast Regional down to Newport News Transportation Center, VA and spent about couple hours exploring the city. With this, I have successfully rode all segments of the NER. This was a fun day.

In an incredibly clever twist, the likely reason why Nintendo released the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie today is that it is the 18th anniversary of Super Mario Galaxy's release on the Wii in North America (Nov. 12, 2007).

It is bonkers how Chicago went from being on the verge of their transit system completely collapsing, to developing one of the best frequent bus networks in the country and introducing 24/7 service to the Orange Line (a distinction very few subway lines in the world even have!). Go Chicago!
Thanks to the Illinois’ massive investment in transit, Chicago has a bright transit future, with the dawn coming next year:
—50% increase in every-10-min bus routes to 30 citywide
—8-minute midday headways on rail lines
—24-hour Orange Line service (Red & Blue already have it)
Acting CTA President Nora Leerhsen’s ambitious plan would also expand — from 20 to 30 routes — the so-called “Frequent Bus Network” that provides service “every ten minutes or better” between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

After a series of games from Inti Creates that felt decent but not great, Majogami is the first game of theirs in quite a while that reminds me of why I love this company's games in the first place. Majogami is a slick 2D Action game with gorgeous graphics and a surprisingly heartfelt story.

I'm pretty sad about this. For what it was worth, I actually quite enjoyed X DiVE as a celebration of the entire series up to this point.

If this is true, I hope everyone who lost their jobs was able to get work elsewhere :(

Charlotte's transport referendum has won.

1% sales tax increase is expected to generate $19 billion/20 years, funding:
—Transit (40%): Red Line commuter rail, Silver Line light rail, Gold Line extension, Blue Line extension
—Road projects (40%)
—Bus improvements, creating frequent bus network (20%)
Just with early vote reporting, Charlotte's transportation sales tax referendum is currently up 55–45%. But I caution this is just the early vote!
