Scary to think what kind of people are going to hired by ICE with its $45B budget in the next 4 years. I thought it would be people who were too incompetent, racist, violent, or crazy for normal police or military jobs, but this paper studies the question systematically:

Indonesia is truly beautiful,

But it’s striking to see so little mechanisation of agriculture. Whether I visit tobacco, rice, or fish farms, much is still done by hand.

The authorities are investigating the death of a Canadian citizen who died Monday in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency said in a statement. Johnny Noviello, 49, is the 10th person to die in ICE custody this year.

I also see the best and most seasoned experts admitting that they don’t know what’s coming—and advising us not to buy what such fully confident pundits are selling.
