This is getting stupid now.

We're at the point where Labour acknowledge both the damage caused by Brexit AND that rejoining the Customs Union (more accurately, joining A Customs Union) would boost growth.

And yet they still reinforce their red lines.

It’s really simple…

- Cap all political donations
- Ban foreign donations
- Strict conflict‑of‑interest & anti‑corruption laws with penalties
- No titles, honours or peerages for donors
- No govt contracts for donors
- Publish every donation/lobby meeting

…that’ll do it.

Trump a fascist, misogynist, lying, corrupt, genocide supporter
is given a 'peace prize' by FIFA.
Any credibility FIFA had has gone. The organisation is not fit for purpose.

Admitting that rejoining the customs union was not “currently” the Government’s official policy, Deputy Prime Minister Mr Lammy did concede that the growth potential of rejoining was “self-evident”

As set out in this thread, the causes of the court backlog are chronic lack of funding and absurd inefficiency.

The government has made no proposals to address either. Their answer is to remove juries.

Rather than fix the leaking roof, their solution is to burn the house down.
Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

Trump has the intelligence of a rock.
What utter humiliation for America to have him as president.

Funny how @zackpolanski.bsky.social suggesting a raft of policies to try and improve the lives of the vast majority is ‘fantasy economics’, but when Brexiteers were allowed to indulge their lunatic fantasies about leaving the EU it somehow became ‘The Will of the People’. 🦄🤔

What a profoundly nasty person

(also we seem to move ever closer to a reproduction of Orwell's description of Winston Smith's trip to the cinema, as the audience cheered images of people killed in the water "then there was a wonderful shot of a child’s arm going up up up right up into the air")
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

David Lammy decides that rather than fund the court system/pay criminal barristers appropriately he will remove the right to jury trials where a sentence of less than 3 years is 'likely'. Juries have worked since 1220. They operate without bias & are fundamental to democracy.
Lammy should resign

Keir Starmer has again announced that the UK will be moving closer to Europe because Brexit has been a failure.

92% of people in the UK think Brexit has been a failure and made the UK worse.

70% of people would rejoin instantly.

Why don't we get rid of Brexit now?

About 2,400 others who already pay some council tax will lose part of their rebate.

Not quite what Reform UK had promised.

Brexit costs the government around £90bn.

Without Brexit we could have tax cuts and spending increases. We would have hope & optimism, not gloom & despair.

Brexit harms the British people, especially the poor & vulnerable. No politician can support Brexit and claim to care for ordinary people.
