The definition of "harmful" is deliberately vague.

The burden on librarians is deliberately immense.

The chilling effect on reading, but also on publishing, author events, bookshops, and more is COMING.

The purpose of the laws is to give the State power to incarcerate anyone M*GA doesn't like.

"Discipline the dissident press! Spankings all 'round!"
Hassett on new study from NY Fed showing 90% of tariff burden is being shouldered by US firms & consumers: "The paper is an embarrassment. It's I think the worst paper I've ever seen in the history of the Fed system. The people associated with this paper should presumably be disciplined."

The people who were warned about tariffs, Epstein, project 2025, healthcare cuts, military invasion of cities, political retribution, losing civil rights etc and chose to vote for Trump are going to “both sides are the same” their way into never admitting they were conned for a decade

This is of the same stripe as the IRS debt relief going on now: “We are borrowing so much we don’t need revenue.” Ah.
That's not the way it works. Again, it's a political move with midterms not based on any sort of financial or legal reality.

Look, the Dems are floundering around for a message in an age when the message is crystal clear. They’re idiots.

But still this is one of the dumbest posts on BlueSky.
Finally figured out the difference between the Dems and the current Republican party. It is just decency and the lack of it. No other politics makes sense.

Obama and Clinton took a lot of flack from the Left for this but I'm going to disagree with the excellent @jushinsuave.bsky.social here. Both of them responded that their job and oath was to execute Congress's laws... even in disagreement. They attempted to do it humanely, eyes on the Constitution.

This trend in the UK can also be found in red states in the U.S. Banning and age restriction can’t work, but some would rather drive the problems underground than do the harder work of raising responsible citizens.
I should also say, I fully expect the UK government to ban under 16s from social media, and to ban them from using VPNs.

They'll do it, to get great headlines, but in the process ruin the lives of some marginalised teens and make most kids less safe.

This skeeter has a really special mind. Absolutely love this shit....
George Martin (1926–2016) was an English record producer, arranger, composer, conductor, and musician. Widely known as “the Fifth Beatle,” he shaped The Beatles’ sound and produced dozens of chart‑topping hits across a six‑decade career, influencing modern popular music

This is wild.

41 DUI arrests by a Tennessee trooper. All dismissed. 22 drivers were completely sober.

He “resigned”. No explanation. No accountability. No apology. His personnel file doesn’t even mention the cases.

Police departments shouldn’t be in the business of shielding corrupt officers.

I spent several moments amusing myself by imagining what a "deep dive" looks like for the President of the United States.
"This is not what our Founders wanted. I have searched the depths of Legal Arguments not yet articulated or vetted on this subject."

Lol. What? Is there footage of Trump in some library looking over SCOTUS arguments or the Founders correspondence?

100%. We all owe Minnesotans a debt for showing the right way to resist: persistent and passionate but disciplined. There is no doubt that the Republican Federals are the bad guys here, and it makes for a more sophisticated sanctuary movement: MN cracked the code.
He's licking his wounds. Minnesota showed us that America isn't what Homan, Trump, Noem thought it is.

I understand this instinct, but it's absurd. He was lawfully elected and inaugurated as president (because the electorate can be bone-stupid and amoral).

If you want to oppose anything oppose his use of his office, not the irrefutable fact that he occupies it.
Definitely never address him as president.
