This is a poem I wrote in 2021 as part of this essay on the vaccine apartheid. It is so depressing how in more ways than we can count, for more and more people, this earth is deliberately being made a mass grave. One day, "some will die" may become "all must die".

Love to see the appetite for action against the corporations facilitating US fascism. But slapping your own, weaker, demands on a handful of companies already under boycott is not the way. E.g. the Target boycott demands investment in Black biz & HBCUs, and Dell is a target for Palestinian BDS.
A Gen Z-led advocacy group announced a boycott campaign targeting major corporations “that enable, profit from, or directly collaborate with ICE.” Beyond the Ballot launched “Not With My Dollars: ICE Out of My Wallet” just days before Black Friday kicks off.
Boycott Campaign Targets Companies Tied to ICE Ahead of Black Friday
The Not With My Dollars campaign takes aim at Amazon, Whole Foods, Dell, Microsoft, Home Depot, Spotify, and Target.

Over one hundred community members gathered at the Home Depot in Monrovia Saturday to pressure the company to stop the immigration raids taking place at its locations.

6. In the interim, it is unclear how or if ICE detainees are receiving medication or obtaining outside medical care. According to two federal class action lawsuits, numerous ICE detainees have not been receiving medically necessary care since October 3.
EXCLUSIVE: How the Trump administration sparked a health crisis for ICE detainees
An abrupt decision on October 3 left thousands of ICE detainees without access to vital medical care — a crisis that is ongoing.

Andrea Pitzer has been a consistently grounding & clarifying voice throughout this past year, but this week's episode feels especially important in marking the latest inflection point on our collective descent into hell.
Trump's immigration policies may be echoing Nazi history, but that doesn't mean there's nothing we can do about it.

Appreciate this coverage but it is hard to explain to people not in the Chicago area that THESE ARE NOT PROTESTS.

This is people coming out of their homes, doing anything in their power to try to stop their neighbors from being kidnapped.

It is coming for your city next, please be prepared.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

Having organized my life around living car-free, I appreciate this whole thread but especially this point. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much our car dependence fuels the perceived “need” for police at societal scale, from traffic laws to “accident” reports.

Good thread: I spent yesterday passing out flyers pointing to on-ramps for ongoing organizing, and virtually everyone I spoke to was grateful for info on deeper next steps. A huge crowd of ppl looking to take action is an opportunity, if your goal is organizing > posturing or stewing.
I dunno, the size of the No Kings crowds yesterday made me feel slightly less hopeless? That morale boost isn't necessarily worth all the effort, but why take away that one positive morale boost by pointing out the obvious?

The statue of Stonewall Jackson was given to artist Kara Walker.

Really important (& short) thread about media literacy, going to primary source material, and how we have to be wary of letting fascists manipulate us by our cynicism. This is even more critical as these very propagandists are stepping into a much bigger (& more “trusted”) platform at CBS
🧵 1. I saw some high-profile pro-Palestine accounts condemning Mamdani for saying "I'm going to have ppl in my admin who are Zionists" & for allegedly putting a "softer spin on his anti-Israel past"
