This is correct.
"Unalive" is self-censorship talk, the only reason it caught on is because of how draconian social media platforms have become when it comes to blocking anything that has a whiff of dark and/or problematic subject matter.
Reject similar terms like the virus they are.

If you write ‘unalive’ in prose or character dialogue, in your NOVEL - which I have seen TWICE NOW - I will immediately wince and full body cringe. The TikTokification of words has to stop. Your character almost DIED or was KILLED in your novel. They were not almost ‘unalived’.
