More on this later. But yeah….
I wonder if they come after any Pitt players.
SOURCES: Penn State is committing roughly $30 million in NIL money and $17 million in staff pool (assistant coaches, support staff, etc.) to Matt Campbell.

- Beamer Ball died and VT never really recovered
- Miami hasn’t been much of a factor since 2002
- Clemson wouldn’t adapt
- FSU keeps making bad hires
- ACC is definitely living in the past with its basketball mindset. It’s morphed into what the Big Easy once was.
The ACC is facing the real possibility of missing the CFP. Its a symptom of a conference that has been too slow to keep pace with the changing realities of the sport. I talked with a dozen current/former coaches & ADs to find out where it went wrong... www.espn.com/college-foot...
'Coastal Chaos' and 7-5 Duke: Can the ACC's longstanding problems ever get resolved?
Duke's presence in the ACC title game isn't just a result of five-way tie for second, it's a symptom of longstanding issues.

Lavar Arrington just went after Jay Paterno and the JoeBots on his show today
The PSU head coaching search has had it all:

-the former coach going on the premier college football show and getting the GOAT coach to defend him
-the interim HC wearing a “Joe 409” pin
-leaked audio of the AD
-the Mormon church & 12 apostles somehow getting involved 🙏
-plus Crumbl cookies! 🍪

My favorite CycloneLarry memory was when he asked Tom Brady “Why was he hiding the meat?” when he was advertising his underwear brand.
Ryan: “There’s some guy online named CycloneLarry & he’s freaking out about Matt Campbell going to Penn State.”

Me: “I know who CycloneLarry is.”

Ryan: “Why?!”

Me: “Pitt played Iowa State in the tournament a few years ago…and my life has not gone the way I thought it would.”

He’s officially hired. Feel bad for Sac State. He bails after one year
Brennan Marion might be Colorado's OC. I don't think the world is ready for those 2 egos in one spot.

She probably wanted a much bigger spotlight in Austin. She definitely got that. It’s all about her pretty much there.
[Stafford] didn't feel like she was being properly used or developed at Pitt.

"I didn't think that I was utilized in the way that I wanted to be," Stafford said succinctly. "The goals that I have, I feel like I wasn't able to get there."

Sounds WAAAYYY too familiar

The Spirit of John Candy lives on
It happened again. For the third straight race now Jamaica's won a gold medal in bobsled.

Further, Trinidad & Tobago's Axel Brown slid to a silver medal, the nation's second in sliding!

Penn State was willing to go 15M/yr for a coach. My guess is they were going to outbid for who they wanted…didn’t work.

Either way, they didn’t really think this through let alone planned for it.
VT has flipped 9 of 13 (heyoooo) PSU commits. Matt Sieg is likely to make it 10/13 soon.

I can't wait to see what he does to them in the portal, which will open 1 month from today. Whoever their new coach is won't have much of a chance to keep guys.

They’re 50/50 on this. Some fans are on board, others feel it’s a desperation hire given how things have gone.

They’d rather try 1-2 years with Terry Smith. He would have a lot of support.

One football alum told me “This feels like a Steve Pederson type of move by Kraft”
I’m not a coach hire newsbreaker and I don’t know how this story ends, but I’ve talked to enough people I trust over the last 24 hours to believe the kalani sitake / penn state chatter is not just message board fodder. There’s legitimate smoke.

It so mind-boggling that a school like Penn State that boasts about their tradition and football attendance….doesn’t have much of a coaching tree.
I think Sitake is an incredible coach, but I have no idea how he's going to handle recruiting and player management outside of primarily Mormons.
