Let me give you a thought experiment:

Imagine not just a ban on qualified immunity for authority, but a reversal; a new legal framework, under which authority bears greater responsibility than civilians in matters involving force—as it should.

Absolute Immunity
Alignment with supremacy is a vile choice. Raising the natural costs for those who make that choice by putting first things first.

If our authorities exist for the protection of the people, then the laws should exist for the protection of the people, not the protection of authorities. If the law exists for the protection of authorities, then the authorities do not exist for the protection of the people.

I’m seeing lots of people on here misunderstand the purpose of ICE watch.

It’s de-escalation. And it’s grounded in the social science of violence. 🧵

Same lie they’ve been telling since the first term.
Trump: "One of the reasons they're doing these fake riots-- I mean they're just terrible. It's so fake. 'Shame! Shame! Shame!' You see the woman. It's all practiced. They take hotel rooms and they all practice together. It's a whole scam. We're finding out who's funding all this stuff too."

They are unlawfully detaining people for First Amendment protected activities, as far as I can tell. Dragging people out of their vehicles absent witnessing a crime and without a judicial warrant is repugnant to our constitutional order.

The agents smashed his car window, dragged him out, and placed a knee on his neck.

Let's start framing it this way:

"Amira Zairi, a self-professed “AI educator” and “ambassador” for Adobe, LeonardoAI, and TripoAI, posted a scathing rant this week on her account on X, the world's largest purveyor of child sexual abuse materials..."

It would be a mistake to see Trumpism as authoritarianism imposed on an unwilling nation, as opposed to authoritarianism implemented in a nation with a plurality that is already made up of authoritarian bootlickers who created the context for Trumpism to thrive.

Democrats so often forget that they can influence public opinion.
if democrats came out today as a whole for "abolish ice" that number would jump to 60 or more, they still fail to grasp how powerful a unifying message behind an intent with momentum is

The public sentiment on ICE is rapidly souring and any Democratic politician who still has a finger in the wind should be getting the message clearly now.
Trump and Miller’s rampage is wildly unpopular. This Admin’s approach is a failure of a political project.

Actually, I'd say they're even worse.

Jim Clark and Bull Connor largely focused their abuse and assaults on African Americans who were taking part in public civil rights demonstrations.

Greg Bovino is invading private homes and workplaces looking for his victims.
We must stress: The only violence is coming from CBP/ICE. They are rioting in the face of sustained nonviolent protests by thousands of Americans across the country.

They are today’s Alabama State Troopers at the Selma bridge. They are Bull Connor’s police with firehoses in Birmingham.

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"
