Should an EU Referendum be held today, Remain would comfortably win over Leave. Paradoxically, Farage leads in the polls with a percentage support roughy correlating with this much diminished support for Brexit. Simply testimony to the current fragmented state of UK politics.

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian.

Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kunesberg during their conference.

Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say?

Climate change is already damaging the nature, beauty and heritage we care for. Without deep and sustained cuts to emissions, nature faces an even more perilous future and the places people love will continue to suffer.

“I would gently point out to Nigel Farage that before we left the EU we had a returns agreement with every country in the EU. He told the country it would make no difference if we left. He was wrong about that. These are Farage boats in many senses coming across the channel” 👏

Some honesty at last

Labour MP blames Brexit for Rachel Reeves’ tax-hiking Budget last Oct, adding that he hopes Britain rejoins the EU in his lifetime.

Andrew Lewin said leaving EU left Britain £40bn poorer per year, adding that “were we still members… there would not have been a single tax rise”

Andy Burnham wants to see Britain rejoin the EU. He has urged his party to call out the financial disaster of Brexit, adding that "the growth is not there as it once was. Long term, I’m going to be honest, I’m going to say it. I hope in my lifetime I see this country rejoin.”

Here's Andy Burnham criticising Starmer's "culture of fear" in the party. So in other words, the political and economic stress of dealing with Brexit is tearing Labour apart just like it did the Tories. This isn't normal. We've had a decade of it, and could be on the verge of our 7th new Brexit PM!

We’ve just moved into an old house where the carpet underlay seems to consist entirely of copies of the Times 1965-1970, and it’s kind of reassuring to find the headlines (arms sales to Israel, teachers’ strike, rows about some MP calling another MP a drunken buffoon) are so utterly relatable

Never let us forget the crucial distinction between nationalism and patriotism. The former is a destructive ideology; the latter celebrates all that is best in a country's values. The difference between hate and violence on the streets of London and Last Night of the Proms!
