The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!
DHS uses American Standard Version translation when quoting scripture. In case you were wondering.

Can someone explain to me like I’m a simpleton: why did it take three years to come to this result?
Christopher Jones Jr., who murdered three UVa schoolmates and injured two others in 2022, will spend the rest of his life behind bars, a judge decided Friday.

A very funny subplot in these papers is that Ken Cuccinelli is an absolute nightmare to work with and former Rector Harding loathed him
My state senator, @creighdeeds.bsky.social, could not get answers from the University of Virginia (which he represents) about the ousting of President Jim Ryan, so he FOIAed them, for which they charged him $4,500 and took one month and four days to respond (five days are allowed by law).
State Sen. Creigh Deeds received his FOIA requests from U.Va. — here’s what we learned
After submitting a six-section Freedom of Information Act Request to the University Sept. 18, State Sen. Creigh Deeds, D-Charlottesville, received 284 pages of records Oct. 29, pertaining to former Un...

Sometimes I wish I was a member of @ama-assn.org so that I could resign my membership in protest.
@kylegriffin1.bsky.social the @ama-assn.org has caved to Trump. They invited known grifter Dr Mehmet Oz to give a speech, but, the AMA board/ John Whyte decided to censor all delegates in the following way.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

“Better things are not possible, but you’ll survive if you hate the right people” is a pretty pure distillation of Republican ideology at this point.

Eight of nine Supreme Court justices claim to be Christian, and it is astonishing to me that they do not fear the wrath of an angry God
🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court has granted the Trump administration’s emergency appeal to temporarily block a lower court order requiring full SNAP food aid payments during the shutdown, allowing Trump to continue with partial payments instead.

A note:

Peter Attia is *not* a physician.
He is not a scientist.
He graduated medical school.
He didn’t complete residency.
He is not board certified.
After dropping out of residency, he worked for McKinsey.
He then founded a private “longevity clinic” to hawk pseudoscience and grift.

the fact that Sandwich Guy is facing this 'wich trial at all is evidence of subpar justice. he is a hero being put through the judicial grinder. i hope the jury wraps up a not guilty verdict without delay or loafing around
