Still looking for a social media platform that's decent. blue sky was promising but failed. Barely functional, it caves into powerful bullies.
Former news guy still interested in the world.
It's good vs evil. The Whitecaps, with the decency and sportsmanship of Thomas Muller against the selfish prima donna Messi.
Will Vancouver Whitecaps fans be dancing into the afternoon and night tomorrow?

MLS Cup on the docket. Miami. Vancouver.

Does it get much better?

We preview it all on @CANSoccerDaily

I’m quite sad that this will be the third World Cup in a row that FIFA have robbed any possibility of enjoyment from. I love football, but there’s just no way I can watch knowing that it’s for sale to any tyrant who wants to sports-wash their regime. FIFA’s corruption is matched only by the hosts.

This is the photo for 2025. Crime syndicate gives fake award to corrupt politician for imagined accomplishments.
FIFA made up this fake award to placate Trump, and look how happy he is about it.

Finally sinking in - the US and Russia are allies and the west goes on without it.
The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The transatlantic relationship as we know it is over. Yes, we kinda knew this. But this is now official US White House policy. Not a sppech, not a statement. The West as it used to be no longer exists.

Vaccines only go so far when public health is pro-infection.
Not one fucking word from any quoted health expert on cleaning classroom air.

Yes, talk about vaccines, ofc that's important.

But there's something else we could talk about here: a measure that protects everyone but doesn't trigger endless debates on the choice to vaccinate.

Clean classroom air!

Carney was UN's special envoy on climate action. His policy changes as Canada's PM will ensure the country will miss all climate goals, says @stevenguilbeault.bsky.social who resigned from Carney's cabinet in protest.

Don't you think it's time put a wrap on corporate greed and exploitation?

This resignation is worth noting. @simondonner.bsky.social is a man of impeccable integrity. If he is saying the process, and the politics, is compromised and broken, that does not bode well for climate action in Carney's Canada.

The Net-Zero Advisory Body is *legally* mandated to consult on Canada’s climate plans but has been completely ignored by Carney and Dabrusin. It appears that it is being bled dry — and now two of its most prominent members have quit in frustration.
