EV tariffs are an attempt to prop up fossil fuels. Another subsidy in effect.

I'm with Wab Kinew. It's time to rescind Canada's 100% tariff on Chinese-made EVs. Prairie farmers are hurting badly, and Canadian families need access to affordable EVs. #cdnpoli @mark-carney.bsky.social @heathermcpherson.bsky.social

Billionaires control just about everything and they're all fascists. The hill to climb is steep.

You have it partly right - it's not the tarriffs. You idiots elected a sex predator/con man to rampage across the world. Twice!

Carney’s strategy is the exact opposite of what Canadians voted for. It’s clear that he’s making many unacknowledged/unexplained assumptions, while ignoring many obvious risks.
Mark Carney is not the CEO of Canada. He’s an elected leader. He needs to explain himself to Canadians.

My naive wish is that even one Canadian journalist, one politician, one security analyst, would address the implications of Canada choosing military integration with an authoritarian power that no longer respects the rule of law or international law.
Looks like that’s not going to happen today.

TC is Postmedia, like every Canadian major daily save two. To say it has an agenda is too kind.

I notice the Carney partisans are quiet now that it's more obvious what he's doing. Selling us out for the oligarchy.

Thank you. Giving more powers to police is bad. Very, very bad. I like what freedom we have.

Even with adjustments, the warrantless access provisions remain — letting agencies conduct surveillance without proper authorization. That’s unacceptable. The government still hasn’t met the standard of consultation needed. The NDP cannot support this bill.

Two things about fascism I didn't really grasp until it became our reality:

1) it's not all-or-nothing. You can have more or less fascism. (Which means even though that's where we are, we can still push back, resist, make many things less bad for many people.

2) It isn't *everywhere* +

Envy - the green eyed monster that drives so many people. We've got so much in Vancouver that jealous people figure at the least we should suffer with losing sports teams. For the most part, they've had their schadenfreude.

Everyone knows. People like Carney are common - hoping to fill their pockets while speeding our demise. End stage capitalism is a doomsday cult.

We have truly not yet figured out how to cope with a person or institution that is "aware" of climate change, "accepts the science", but then decides to continue actively worsening it anyway

We don't even have a word or a phrase for this!

Mark Carney’s climate inaction is at odds with his awareness of climate change’s existential threat
Climate action no longer seems to be a priority for Prime Minister Mark Carney, despite his previous activism. This is bad news for Canadians and the climate.

Not surprising, coming from Canada's own climate criminal - selling our future for power. Hope the oligarchs really provide him with a cushy landing.
