I had a few casual run in with college republicans in the early 0’s. They were organized and served as a counter culture but always attracted those that saw it as a spring board to a political career and just replicated what worked for the “adults”. Quite the reflection today.
"There is no labeling in the graphic, and there are no identifying features... this graphic does not glorify nor valorize any incident because it lacks any reasonable connection," the college Republicans who posted this graphic said in a statement. dailyillini.com/news-stories...

Trump: "I have determined that the fastest way to bring The Trump Kennedy Center to the highest level of Success, Beauty, and Grandeur, is to cease Entertainment Operations for an approximately two year period of time, with a scheduled Grand Reopening that will rival and surpass anything."

200-300 a week?!!!?! WTF I think we were close to that amount during the first weeks of the pandemic to support our local restaurants……think that’s our monthly spend going out now.
"From her roughly $50,000 annual salary as a data processor in San Diego, Ms. Reedy, 34, spends at least $200 to $300 a week on food delivery."

If you're spending at least 20 percent of your salary on *delivered* food, maybe affordability isn't the main issue.

People are reading this way wrong. Schumer detached DHS from the other five bills in return for a two week CR on the DHS bill. Now Democrats can make demands on DHS spending without having to shut down agencies covered in the other five bills. They have way more leverage to get real concessions.
People just going out here saying the literal opposite of what happened. Thune caved! Thune did! This is a cave by Thune and Senate Republicans, any possible way you cut it.

Yeah this was a pretty good deal today - shutting down the whole govt just puts more pressure on dems.
i don't think this is as bad as people are saying

separating dhs from the rest is a solid strategic start -- it's what they were going for, a long shutdown on everything will break the dems apart, just on this they can hold more or less indefinitely
Democrats and the White House agreed to separate Homeland Security funding from the government spending legislation that will avert a shutdown.

The criticism of democrats reminds of that movie “Small Soldiers” with the Gorgonites being predisposed to collaboration and being collegial.
