I distinctly remember a right-wing pundit (may have been Kirk) writing on Twitter that MAGA would need a strategy to deal with the kinds of images and videos that would come out during a second Trump term. He meant it in the context of ICE deportations, but it feels prescient here as well.

I feel like if the US is picking AI to be its biggest industry then the politicians in charge of regulating it need to be at least tech savvy enough to retrieve their own passwords without asking IT/their grandkids for help.

I love how zero-chill the French military is. If they are ever losing a war and the enemy is getting too close to France, doctrine dictates that Step 1 of opening negotiations is to drop a tactical nuke on the enemy's tank columns. This will help to calm the enemy down and make them see reason.

Trump doesn't have political beliefs. Part of his reprehensible personality involves the only political "beliefs" he has being whatever his cronies tell him makes him popular or hurts his enemies. He puts no more thought into it, as evidenced by how he constantly changes his mind even mid-sentence.
Although Trump’s abhorrent political beliefs are ultimately more damaging to the nation, his reprehensible personality is more shocking to me on a personal level.

There is a reason that older people have such a vice grip on all levels of politics. They have the desire and the time to show up.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.
