To be clear Lizza’s story is that Nuzzi sat on important matters of national significance for personal benefit and he’s sat on these details until he could personally benefit.

All of DC media needs to be thrown into the sea. Anyone who defends these people is a goddamn clown.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead makes perfect sense without ever having seen Hamlet, which it's riffing off. I don't think Wicked: For Good's latter half achieves this.
I mean, if I’m watching a movie that is openly a riff on Cinderella from a different character’s perspective, I don’t actually need the movie to show me the entire story of Cinderella for me to understand that there’s a different version of Cinderella happening in the background and roll with it.

That's my point. The final act is choppy and confusing, as a result. It makes references to a story in a film that isn't actually connected.

Something I've noticed whenever I mention my issues with Wicked: For Good's final act: The people who dismissively say "Just watch The Wizard of Oz" are the often the same ones who have criticized Marvel movies for requiring "homework" (watching other movies/TV shows) to understand the story.

I gather together with @erikwbarnes.bsky.social to discuss cheesy movies on Thanksgiving Day. It's Mystery Science Theater 3000, and it's called "Turkey Day." www.playtyperguy.com/p/talking-my...

Everyone On Social Media: If you discuss any specific plot elements about a movie within its first week of release, I'll block you!

This Guy: Spoiler Tags are the blockworthy. (Though I was kind enough to block him and spare him more tags.)

Great column & not just about food costs.
Fox News shamelessly boasts that “gas and thanksgiving prices” are the lowest since the pandemic, which they seem to think started in 2021. However, that was true pretty much every year of the Biden administration and Fox claimed it was the next great depression. www.playtyperguy.com/p/yes-virgin...

Possibly the best thing Kamala Harris can do for the party is openly reject this sort of parasocial stanning for politicians, as if they're movie stars or music performers. Nothing good has come from it.

Chris Van Hollen would be better. Because his trip to Honduras wasn't just the right thing to do he used it to steal away attention in the attention economy. He actually understood that your message and legislation are meaningless if all anyone is talking about are Republicans & on thier own terms.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

My fav Shakespeare thing is how Henry IV part 2 starts with Majel Barrett Roddenberry saying, "Previously on Henry IV..." and there's a clip reel ending with Hotspur yelling "FIRE EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT."

Then Majel's voice: "And now, the conclusion."

I have long had an obscure, complex theory about Susan Collins that explains these things.

Susan Collins is terrible and anyone who ever suggested she is a moderate is a liar or a rube.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
In case anyone is wondering what kind of campaign Collins intends to run next year, now we know. No achievements, only hate:

Collins' office said she signed onto the petition because she agrees with President Donald Trump’s interpretation of Title IX.

Some Democrats are salty over Slotkin's remarks, but in 1991/92 Bill Clinton campaigned on similar ground:

"Four years ago, I was giving a speech saying the Democrats were going downhill. And now it's become part of the conventional wisdom of the Democratic Party, so I guess I should be grateful."
Slotkin: "He's trying to distract us from the big stories of last week, the Epstein files and economy. He's tweeting 'the economy is the best it's ever been' -- amazing considering the public isn't stupid. It reminded me of Joe Biden. Biden tried to tell us for a year that the economy was great."
