In between that I also dialed up the stitch width to the max based on some of the advice I saw for working w thicker material and played w presser foot pressure, but I think I made the stitch width too wide, which is why the loops weren’t being caught and overlocked all the way

Singer overlock needles. so I tried jeans needles bc I’m sewing canvas… skipped stitches, which new manual said was due to needle being inserted wrong or the wrong needle. Switched to a ball point needle (even though it’s woven fabric) and suddenly it worked.

Got a new manual, got the needles singer’s website recommend — they didn’t fit at all. Fell right out. Found one Facebook post on a sewing group from 1 person who had been through the same issue. Turns out regular sewing machine needles would have worked the whole time, but not the ones sold as

The looper threads were fine but one needle thread or the other kept breaking. Wanted to change needles but only had 2 that came w the machine and they aren’t sold under the same label anymore bc this machine is from the late 80s. Oh also the manual I have is misprinted.

I was moving from a lightweight project to a pretty heavy one so I wasn’t sure if I was just asking this thing to sew through more material than it was capable of but reading old forum posts had a lot of people talking about making jeans, making upholstery, etc. so it had to be possible

I love seeing queer artists draw bodies. Queer attraction and beauty has such range to it, and I love seeing body types and parts that we've been told are ugly drawn with such care. I love getting to see the body from so many different perspectives
