We spoke to queer Nigerian gamers about the identities they hide online
Voice chat can mean teamwork, coordination, and banter, but for many of the queer Nigerian gamers we spoke to, the mic is a risk assessment tool.

I’m really inspired by all the aid going toward paying rent but it’s really making me think rent shouldn’t really be a thing. 🤔 Just another way the various crisis of capitalism (corporate land ownership and the police state) overlap and deprive people of their basic human needs. Just a thought!

I’m on the scene at Franklin and 1st. A convoy of about a couple dozen ICE/HSI agents broke the entryway into an apartment building at 6am. No warrant presented. Less than 24 hours ago, Tom Homan announced the end of large convoys in Minnesota… Bullshit.

One thing I think is important to remember is that it does not take many subscribers on the scale of things. Your money goes a lot farther when it goes directly toward the people making the work. You do not need 30 million readers and infinite growth.

Liam was taken from Columbia Heights, the town just south of my high school in Fridley and just north of the Arts district in NE Minneapolis. I spent a lot of time with friends there after extracurriculars. News of his abduction completely broke my heart. I’m glad he’s home. #Comics4Liam

I’m trying to help this immigrant family who’s been inside for over a month due to increased ICE presence in our community. Rent and bills are due tomorrow (Feb. 1) so we are really hoping to support them. Let’s make this family happy & prevent their displacement. ❤️

I do this and it has never gone badly because I never call someone with the expectation that the can definitely talk to me right then and there.

I have bad ADHD so a lot of times scheduling a call can actually prevent me from talking to people who I genuinely want to talk to.
