I'm not from there, but I can tell that Andrew Cuomo is all wrong for NYC. From afar I watched him bungle the state as Governor, but what's really putting that final nail in the coffin for me is all the right wing MAGA types giving their 11th hour endorsements. That's a big red flag right there, NYC

See, I reject this, because it forgoes a large chunk of this nation's history where a deliberate campaign was waged to put a certain kind of person into a certain class.

We don't just have racist and sexist criminals, we have a system of racism and sexism in this country which allows this to fester

Yes they are racist and sexist and criminals, but the common thread is an outright war on the poor and the unlucky.

Abortion policy doesn’t matter to them, because they won’t lose access. Same with healthcare, deportation, gender affirming care (hello MAGA men!), civil rights…

It’s a class war.

the issue with this piece isn't "siloing," it's a basic lack of rigor in the reporting on Cuomo's time as governor, which is treated as a triumph until 2020. Cuomo spent most of his time in charge stymying the progress this article credits him with achieving.

I don't idolize politicians or fan boy after any of them. They are all servants and tools that must be used by the majority to make life better. If they do well, reward them. If they fail, replace them.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.
