I played like 2 hours and *saw* people but never had to interact with them and I'm pretty sure the enemies in the starter zone just straight up cannot hurt you so it's one of those games where they'll jumpscare you with "difficulty" 200 hours later when you haven't needed to learn to play the game

Argath aka Algus yells "Animals have no God!!" like a jerk. The original translation of Final Fantasy Tactics is notoriously rough, but I always liked how blunt this line was.
