For 61 years the #BBCWorldService has been broadcasting the latest in science via its weekly Science in Action programme. That dies in the next half hour, with this final edition, reflecting on the fall in trust in expertise driven by malign interests over recent years.

Reform are into Day Three of Racismsplaining. It's harder than it looks.
thecritic.co.uk/easy...
The vast majority of 'journalists' that normalise racism or bigotry are usually the last ones to face its consequences. It's all just talking points and entertainment to them.🤬
I did look twice to check it wasn't Liam 🤣

In shock news, Liz Truss's Stilton and Cheddar deal with Japan... actually led to a year on year decrease in Stilton and Cheddar exports to Japan.

Byline Times is digging where the monopoly press fears to tread.

Farage’s Kremlin links. Trump’s pull on Blue Labour. Thiel & Palantir’s reach into government.

Our new investigations team is just getting started. Help us go even further:

Do these deportations extend to the grandchildren of migrants who came to the UK to escape persecution (like herself)?
A Conservative MP tipped as a future party leader has been condemned for saying large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

Tory MP criticised after demanding legally settled families be deported
Katie Lam said move would make UK ‘culturally coherent’ and that a large number of people ‘need to go home’

The misogyny in the comments is off the scale. It's a sport requiring the ability to throw 'arrows' at a target board, not a contest of physical prowess except over time. Yet some men have a problem with that 🤷🏾‍♀️

And naive people want to claim that Labour and the Tories are the same...
Tories have announced plans for £47bn annual public spending cuts to pay for tax cuts & tax rebates.

This means:

• 67% cut (£7bn) to international development
• 25% cut (£8bn) to civil servant costs meaning a quarter of jobs could be lost
• £32bn cuts to the welfare budget

I see the TUC are vocal online, at least. I've seen the usual statements condemning Yaxley Lennon and Farage from others, but I think it's hard to cut through when MSM are hell bent on having the drama of a far-right govt to report on.

I’m watching and it’s astounding. We all knew something like this was going on - but the extent of it! While so many were suffering, dying, sunk into loneliness - a few were absolutely RAKING IT IN. The COVID health crisis was a very, very lucrative opportunity for some.
🚨Our upcoming documentary on the VIP Lane made the ITV news this evening.

“Waste of taxpayers' money': Whistleblower says billions wasted on unfit PPE during Covid pandemic”.

🎥Tune in to ITV Sunday 10.15pm to watch the rest of “The Covid Contracts”

As America deals with, apparently, two lynchings of African Americans this week 😪
The Trump administration ordered several National Park Service sites to take down materials related to slavery and Native Americans, including an 1863 photograph of a formerly enslaved man with scars on his back, one of the most powerful images of the Civil War era. nyti.ms/4nyyyaQ
There's a huge distinction between free speech and hate speech, the latter bringing harm. And adding incitement to violence, well Labour need actions, not words, now.
Elon wants the BBCs news structure - the largest in the world
If anyone deserves a good slap... She angers me
When I think of the amount of shows I've watched as a result of it appearing on Gogglebox, it's a wonder they dither.
Returning to our screens Sunday mornings, Keunssberg has Farage on tomorrow

The Reform party conference has been told that Covid vaccines are the probable cause of cancer for the King and the Princess of Wales

The party chose to platform Dr Aseem Malhotra, a prominent ally of RFK Jr in their dangerous maverick campaigns against vaccines

A new voting strategy?
I strongly object to the use of the phrase "ministers in waiting." It gives the impression they are a credible choice and fit for government.

What on earth has possessed people to believe that Reform’s motley collection of our most abysmal, prejudiced and corrupt politicians - all with a proven track record of epic and piss-taking failure would be a remotely credible government? Seriously people… and media…
you’ve lost your goddam minds.
