but this all seems like a dispute that’s better litigated on a motion to dismiss the indictment. Faruqui might end up sticking his neck out only to get reversed in an opinion saying “maybe this is a merits issue but you still gotta file the case”

It's not, and this is a mess entirely of the govt's making, but from the transcripts and briefing two things stand out--(1) "this is highly irregular" is a weak argument, and (2) just at a base level, you generally don't want to bring a rule to a statute-fight (if that makes sense)

This is the thing with the Stewart case before magistrate Faruqui. As shoddily as the government has handled the indictment and as "irregular" as their actions have been, I don't actually think the defense has the better side of the argument on the issue being so hotly contested

Frankly I’m not even sure the defense’s argument wins the day, but it’s incredibly telling that DOJ didn’t even bother to engage with the law!

What makes Drake taking the L here particularly funny is that Kendrick Lamar absolutely intended to convey as a factual matter that Drake was a pedophile and the audience 100% took it as such.

Family dramedy that starts with four grown sisters suspecting their dad is cheating on their mom. The whole show just oozes talent, top to bottom, with an obscenely good lead cast. Whatever review said "so good it makes everything else look like shit" (paraphrased) was spot on

I don't want to oversell it but it almost made me mad that *that* show had such a strong and thought-out conclusion, when many many better shows have stumbled at the finish

But some ridiculous parts aside, it was not a bad show, and had an exceptionally strong ending for a kdrama (many of which treat the ending like an afterthought at best). The central partner/associate relationship was actually nuanced and had interesting tension
