Garland's and Guerin's comments underscore that Quinn is a hockey nerd. I assumed the contract walking him to free agency was (only) about money. I think he saw the 💩 decisions Benning was making and decided to keep his options open. Lifelong #Canucks fan, but honestly can't say I blame him.
My official stance (after going through the five stages of grief, lol) is that quinn deserves better and all canucks players do too

#canucks fans are a subset of hockey fans and it is hard to feel like winners here, even if the MIN power play is going to be 🔥🔥🔥. I admit it will be fun (💔) to watch Quinn pile up points when he isn’t being ground into dust with 28+ TOI each night.
One winner in the Quinn Hughes trade I haven't seen mentioned yet: hockey fans.
With #Canucks lack of playoffs and him missing 4 Nations last year, Hughes hasn't played a ton of consequential games.
Fans should now finally get to see his talent in games that matter.

QH is one of the very best dmen in the world. Players like him are almost never traded. The Wild paid a heavy price, and there is a risk Quinn leaves after next season when his contract is up. Wild are immediately better but hard road ahead as top 2 teams in west COL and DAL are also in their div.
I need the hockey people to explain the Wild trade to me. Apparently it’s a big deal. I don’t know who Quinn Hughes is. Does this elevate the Wild beyond their perpetual mediocrity?

I’m frankly stunned how much this hurts. I’m having to remind myself that the #Canucks play a kid’s game I happen to enjoy watching.
