The conflation of "NPC" with "unimportant" annoys me. Just because I can't control a player directly doesn't mean the quality of those interactions doesn't matter!
Obviously I don't write for games (yet?? I guess??) but dialogue is absolutely the most fun part of writing and the fact that people are going "oh yeah I just streamline it no one cares about that stuff"
