The scammers are getting more clever.
Every day I get emails that could be "random book club wants to feature your book for free" or could be "scammer wants you to pay for fake promo" & I don't want to assume it's the latter until I find out. But it's a firehose.
Makes me sad for legit book clubs.

The BBFC's attitude towards sex since the new guidelines is atrocious. Eternity gets a 15 rating for "strong sex" because of some mild thrusting, under covers or out of frame in two brief scenes, but The Choral gets 12A for "moderate sex" for a longer scene where someone gets a handjob below frame.

It’s not an aspect ratio thing. It’s a leaving-out-the-vfx thing. “Invisible vfx” are unnoticed until they’re gone. In the original, the crew was painted out and replaced by a potted plant. 🪴

In the last week, I've run into multiple comments across social media where someone's suggested that because someone wrote a parody of something, that means they were angry at it and hated it.

If you have YouTubers you like and follow and watch their videos a lot
leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

As someone who uses closed captioning I am all in favor of screaming about AI generated CC. I can always tell when it’s AI generated, because it’s so incredibly awful.
Good job, guys. See if you can't make similar results happen for No Game, No Life and Vinland Saga.

Ginny Di makes an excellent underrepresented point here in that the secondary damage caused by AI is that so many artists have to defend our own work as organic now. I had to put out a statement that BLACK PHONE 2 contained no AI because assholes decided to accuse us of using it and no other reason.
