Hi @bsky.app @support.bsky.team I really liked when I joined how nearly all pictures had AltText. I liked how I could set a reminder to add it. I don't usually need it, but, I like to make it easy for others. Can the default be to need it and someone has to go into settings to turn the reminder off?

Yep, that should be included in all articles about bills. The SAVE act is HR 7296. www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr...

BONDI: He does work for us, yes. I believe he was pardoned

NEGUSE: And you expect hard-working police officers to believe you take law enforcement seriously?

It's really instructive when you replace "Millennials" with "middle-aged adults" in headlines.

This is an excellent idea.

#Vermont #Housing
As part of a new initiative called “802 Homes,” state officials are drafting 10 home designs that will be available for free to property owners and developers — and would get a fast-track through local permitting.
Vermont develops catalog of prevetted home designs for faster building
The 10 home designs should be finalized by the end of the year and are being piloted in three communities first.

US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

ICE is also not only in the Twin Cities. I've been sent pictures of them in Warroad, St. Peter, and Winnebago. These are not large towns. Winnebago has one damn fuel station.
MINNESOTA IS NOT OK. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE TALKING ABOUT MINNESOTA… THEY ARE LITERALLY FEEDING FAMILIES THROUGH UNDERGROUND RAILROAD STYLE ROUTES THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND APPARENTLY HELICOPTERS AND DRONES FLY OVERHEAD CONSTANTLY EVEN THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT.

Yeah the Nation Governors Assn is supposed to be nonpartisan and after that BS last year by Trump directed at Mills, some govs didn't renew their membership. So, the Republican leader is going the right thing now.

Note what is mentioned waaaaay down at the end: Indigenous nations have agreements with Canada and the province of Alberta is not party to any of them. If Alberta wants to secured, it cannot take any indigenous lands with them.
Here is my latest for @truthout.org ... I explain the Alberta sovereignty movement for Americans, who might be surprised to hear that there are Canadians who think that they will lend them $500B to become independent.

Affordable housing. Literally. I would become a huge developer of affordable, small scale, interstitial housing within towns all over the place. I'd work with local zoning groups to identify good spots or existing buildings that need renovation and I'd try and make all of them truly accessible.
What would you spend $1.65 million a day on?

One last thing: it's unfortunate that a story about direct cash assistance helping young people in Oregon secure housing is illustrated with a stock image—per the photo credit—of a woman panhandling in NYC. That kind of visual shorthand does real harm. News organizations can (and should) do better.

You know what you can get when you have housing? A safe place to shower. Real sleep. The ability to cook food, even if it’s just ramen. And when you’re nourished, rested, and clean? Hope. Confidence. Maybe you can get a job. Maybe you can create. Maybe you can just rest.

$1000/mo is a BARGAIN
"By the end of the two-year period, 94% of participants reported they were housed."

A million pilot programs show the same thing: when people are given enough money to afford housing, homelessness ends.

Other supports matter, but housing comes first. Not policing. Not moralizing. Homes.
