‘Enchanted’ organisations, in Davies (2017: 23) terms, such as trade unions or guilds offer forms of authority that have no connection to ‘markets, calculations or individual choice’

Reform UK's migration plan 'abhorrent beyond words', says Royal College of Nursing
The Royal College of Nursing says that thousands of migrant nurses would lose their jobs under Reform UK’s plan to end indefinite leave to remain and that this would be abhorrent. Nicola Ranger, its general secretary and chief executive, said:

"Bad state" can mean different things to different people. To some, it could mean that the area's been devastated by austerity and underinvestment. To others, it could mean that some black or brown people have moved into the neighbourhood.

💷 💷 💷 NEW: Polling for Compass reveals that a majority of the public support taxing the vast wealth of the UK's richest.

If Labour fails to listen to the country on taxing wealth and surrenders the resources that this would unlock, a decade of national renewal is a nonstarter.

There is so much wrong with Labour's comms. But I think this ad, in many ways sums them up. It's not just a really shit ad - 13 words that make your eyes bleed, dissociated from the image they're clunkily slapped across. That's just shit execution.

Today I received another email from @gofundme.com saying they were “refunding me” - aka continuing to stop starving Palestinians in Gaza from accessing one of the only ways of accessing money to pay for food. Aiding & abetting genocide, in other words. We won’t forget.

Every "smash the gangs" reference, every Starmer op-ed blaming public service collapse on the tiny proportion of refugees who come to this country, every border externalisation and offshore "returns hub" deal, is Labour running Reform's campaign for them, gratis. That they can't see this is damning.
