Hey, fun fact: Oklahoma takes more in federal funds than it contributes. For example, in 2023, it took $18 billion more and ranked 7th most reliant state on federal money. That same year, California contributed $17 billion MORE than it took.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices

I have been thinking all day about the number of times unarmed Black people were killed by police on the pretext that their cell phone looked like a gun. And people would say “oh but you just don‘t know what the truth is.” Well here it is.
