RFK Jr. has been methodically dismantling our public health system, pushing out scientists & experts who refuse to put his cuckoo-bananas nonsense over decades of hard, scientific evidence.

Today, while discussing how WA state is stepping up, I reiterated that he must be FIRED.

Very excited about our new preprint, led by @gkafetzis.bsky.social /w @mikebok.bsky.social & @denilsson.bsky.social. We suggest that the vertebrate 'duplex' retina emerged from interconnecting two ancient median-eye microcircuits. Say goodbye to the 'simplex' retina - it probably never existed!

That’s awesome. I wonder if it has parasitoid wasps 👀

Yes, not too common, although they are more abundant east of the cascades. That is pretty awesome

I still can't believe that my ERC starting grant proposal, #BeeSpace got accepted by the @erc.europa.eu. For the next 5 years, we have funding to study place coding in the insect 🐝 brain. Exciting times are ahead. Without the great support of my former PIs this wouldn't have been possible.

Happy to announce that @ajblake05.bsky.social’s JEB paper was selected as this month’s Editors Choice article. This article discovered that mosquito color/wavelength preferences shift depending on the odor they experience.
Adam’s paper selected as the Editors’s Choice for August/September.
